Godzilla Shogun Warriors Figure!

shogun_godzillabox.JPG

For the uninitiated, the Shogun Warriors was a toy concept from Japan, featuring giant robots. I think it began in manga, and then went on to anime and toys with robots such as Mazinger and the like. In the 1970s, Mattel licensed the line for the USA and other countries, first bringing out the 2-foot-tall plus plastic robots, and going on to die-cast smaller robots and vehicles. Oddly, they also produced this Godzilla figure (which shoots his fist! So maybe it's really a Mechagodzilla before the fake skin got shredded off?), and they did an even rarer (I've never seen one in real life, although I've had two Godzillas) Rodan figure!

  4. Roy, they're rare enough that 2 pounds is an AMAZING bargain for one!

  5. I had one of those! I recall the fist traveling quite far. I recall the fire red tongue being controlled
by a lever on the neck.
